Allegra Lopez, Pilates Instructor NCPT

Allegra has had the pleasure of teaching at Mind Your Body since 2006 and is our pre/postnatal specialty instructor. She teaches a variety of clientele, ranging in all levels, and is often found doing her own Advanced Practice in the studio. Allegra is a client favorite and books rather quickly because she focuses on specific alignment, body awareness, and developing core strength, and encourages this to be part of daily life. She has a hands-on approach, supportive, patient, yet persistent.

Anna Bernal, GYROTONIC® Instructor

Anna was immediately drawn to its power to heal from the inside out by enhancing strength, building flexibility, and increasing body awareness. In her classes, you will work for a flexible and healthy strong spine and discover a different approach in how to work out your entire body to support your alignment. Anna brings a deep understanding of movement to her role as a certified GYROTONIC® trainer. Since becoming a teacher, she has shared this transformative method in both Barcelona, her home and New York. Anna stays current in her training to develop skills while pursuing her career in dance.

Arielle Medina, Pilates Instructor

Arielle wants her clients to build a movement vocabulary for everyday exercises that can help in their daily routines. She is a living testimony to Pilates; seeing how her body has changed throughout every stage of her Practice. She wants all of our clients to have a better sense of body awareness after each session/class. Arielle is your “cheerleading” instructor who celebrates your biggest and smallest achievements together. Classically and formerly trained as a student of Pilates, she will take you through the steps needed to help you achieve your goals and go far beyond your movement expectations.

Caitlyn Morgan, Pilates Instructor

Caitlyn appreciates the concept that Pilates works all the muscles and improves posture and well-being for all. With minimum effort and maximum results, she enjoys the journey most experienced with the Pilates methodology. Caitlyn teaches with precision and flow with a pleasant approach. She understands the need for a consistent practice to aid in physical change. Being a professional dancer, Caitlyn knows that movement truly improves the quality of one’s life. She has made her home at Mind Your Body and is a class favorite!

Dawvyn Winters, Pilates Instructor

Dawvyn is a passionate classical Pilates instructor with a foundation in contemporary dance. As a professional dancer, she recognizes the vital role Pilates plays in nurturing and strengthening the body. She teaches all levels with a blend of artistry, flow, and intensity. Dawvyn focuses on personalizing one-on-one sessions to meet the individual needs of each client, whether they are working toward injury recovery, improved strength, or simply a deeper connection with their body. In order to deepen the connection of the mind and body, she also fosters a soothing class atmosphere while emphasizing the importance of breath work. Her attention to precise alignment and loving spirit ensures that every session is both effective and enjoyable. Dawvyn is thrilled to be joining Mind Your Body!

Fosca Tezzat, GYROTONIC® Instructor

Fosca was the youngest certified GYROTONIC® graduate, at age 17! She enveloped the GYROTONIC® technique as a student in Venice, Italy until New York City became her home. Fosca’s experience as an instructor is diverse, with students’ age range from 14-88. She enjoys teaching dancers, athletes, those recovering from injury, the elderly, those with physical disabilities, and those who simply enjoy the movement. Fosca enjoys witnessing her clients enhance their physical stage, while also benefitting from expanding their bodies through movement.

​James Duus, Pilates Instructor

​While working with James, one can expect to focus on the basic fundamentals of physical fitness. He encourages broad concepts and increases the details with practice. James guides each client with a hands-on approach to help releasing and letting go while working for maximum results free of tension. James has enjoyed his twelve years at Mind Your Body and his warm, positive demeanor makes it easy to keep a consistent Pilates practice.  James is trained in Activated Isolated Stretch and with approval, will convert a Pilates lesson to an AI session.

Laura Anders, Pilates Instructor

MELT®Through a mixture of classical and contemporary Pilates, Laura focuses on how everyday movement can improve through corrective practice. She customizes each workout for the individual based on long term goals as well as how one is feeling that day. Laura brings focus to her clients’ minds through corrective and specific exercises, pushes clients to new limits and helps all her clients feel good in their bodies. Laura creates a calming environment making the Pilates practice safe for all resulting in a positive and productive workout space.

As an instructor, Lo shines because of her unwavering passion for sharing the transformative benefits of Pilates with others. Her extensive knowledge of anatomy and alignment ensures precise guidance and support throughout each session. Lo designs dynamic workouts that challenge and inspire her clients to push their limits.

Mary is passionate about the transformative power of movement and breath. With a background in dance and sports medicine, she guides clients towards improved strength, mobility, mental clarity, and overall well-being. Mary challenges her students while emphasizing individuality and the journey. She provides unique visual cues and encourages clients to cultivate their mind-body connection throughout her full-body Pilates sessions. She values the Pilates’ method, as it is accessible to all at any point in one’s life! She empowers individuals to refine their relationships with their bodies, discover their unique flow, so they can move through the world with greater grace and ease. You'll leave her class a little longer, stronger, calmer and more connected to yourself!

As an athletic individual, Melissa understands how important Pilates is to keep the entire body moving well and safely. She motivates and energizes each lesson and focuses on the Pilates concepts, leaving clients with a new awareness utilizing stability, mobility, and strength. Melissa fits the lesson to any need of the body in front of her, no matter the age or level. She loves to encourage people to their optimum goals and to observe clients in feeling amazing! Melissa is a great fit for someone just starting to learn Pilates one on one and she will progress the client to flow!

Known for tailoring challenging workouts to individual needs and goals, Nina has experience working with a wide range of clients, including prenatal and postpartum mothers, healthy and persons with physical limitations, and all age groups. One can expect to take the work seriously and have fun doing it with Nina!
