Tower / MatThe Tower is the newer version of Joseph Pilates’ Cadillac, which he felt was the "Cadillac" of all his equipment. With a still mat to focus your centering, concentration, and control, one is guided from the Pilates Mat to Spring work. It is said that stability comes first, and from there, we learn to move from the core with precision, breath, and flow. While the springs may feel heavy at first, with practice, one begins to strengthen the supportive musculature, and it soon becomes a way of moving in class and throughout life. We recommend those new to group classes to begin with a Tower/Mat class!
Pilates StrengthPilates Strength is a mat-based class, which eliminates spinal flex ion for healthy bones and joints. Hand or ankle wights may be used for added weight bearing and strength. It’s adaptable for varying levels and is safe for those with osteoporosis. Keeping your bones strong is key to healthy living as we age!
Pilates CircuitGroup Pilates Apparatus classes are a very new concept. Traditionally, a Pilates lesson was a private or a semi-private lesson, where the client did Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, or other, independently but supervised. The Circuit Class is designed as a Class format but will pick at least two different apparatus or props to work within the class. Example: Tower and Reformer

ReformerThe Universal Reformer was the original name for this piece of equipment that Joseph Pilates designed himself. The guess is that it was designed for all beings. With a mobile carriage, shoulder placement and a foot-bar, the Reformer is designed to help the body understand what good alignment is meant to be. There are numerous exercises to learn and the work is so vast, that one lifetime is almost not enough to master them all! One will never get bored. Moving with precision, utilizing the breath and flow is the goal and our small group class atmosphere is set up to guide you.
GYROKINESIS®GYROKINESIS® classes are an important component of Juliu Horvath's methodology. Class begins with self-massage and simple breathing patterns that stimulate and awaken the senses. It then progresses through a series of spinal motions that mobilize the spine and pelvis through arching, curling, bending, twisting and spiraling. These movement patterns are repeated on other areas of the body to release the joints of the arms and legs in all possible directions.
This class is offered on Tuesdays only. Extended MovementThe Extended Movement Classes are 75 Minute classes designed to give more time to special topics. Often more time is needed to work in a deeper manner or introduce a concept. This class has special pricing, but still a very good deal for the content given in each of the classes. Each class will have a subcategory displaying what the specialty is.
