Mind Your Body Pilates is a supporter of Skip Lunch Fight Hunger, a citywide initiative that asks individuals to donate what they normally spend on lunch to help fight hunger in New York City. Skip Lunch Fight Hunger was conceived in 2002 by City Harvest board member Dana Cowin, editor in chief of Food & Wine magazine.
On May 6, 2009, some 7,000 participants from nearly 300 teams joined Skip Lunch Fight Hunger, raising funds to help feed hungry kids and their families by donating to City Harvest. In a single day, more than $400,000 was raised enough to help feed over 22,000 kids and their families for an entire summer.
Don’t forget, it’s not too late to get in on the fun and start your own fundraising team! Invite your coworkers to participate in Skip Lunch Fight Hunger, happening on Wednesday, May 12th. Skip Lunch is the easiest way for any New Yorker to directly contribute to the fight against hunger in our city. Just $10 can help 15 children and their families!
Or, help us gather funds by sending our team link – The Harvesters! – to your friends and family: http://www.skiplunch.org/chsk/teampage.asp?fundid=1848. It’s easy and fast.
